The Origins of Value

is an on-line visual database of financial instruments, securities and documents related to the history of financial markets. Unless noted othwerwise, these documents come from personal collections or the Yale Libraries.

A note on open source:

We welcome additions and contributions to this visual database. Please contact us about the technical requirements. Comments and annotations about specific instruments are welcome and should be directed to william.goetzmann@yale.edu or k.rouwenhorst@yale.edu.
      These contributions, comments and annotations will be credited to the contributor.

Instructions for use:

The database is searchable by keyword or other data fields. Type in a search term. Thumbnails and names of the documents will be displayed. Click on these thumbnails for detailed resolution.
